Josh Hazlewood to be part of IPL 2024 auction: Reports

The Indian Premier League 2024 auction will include Australian fast-bowler Josh Hazlewood. The player acquisition procedure is set to begin on December 19 in Dubai. As a result, Thursday, November 30, will be critical because it is the final day for players to register for the IPL auction.

Players must submit their identities, as well as No Objection Certificates (NOCs), to their respective boards. Over 700 players have already registered for the auction, including notable names from the last ODI World Cup.

According to Cricbuzz, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Ibrahim Zadran, and Rahmat Shah have all registered for the auction. Similarly, there has been uncertainty about Josh Hazlewood’s availability for the competition.

After the registrations, franchises will be asked to submit a shortened list of players. The BCCI predicts around 70 players will be sold at the auction with transactions up to INR 262.95 crore to fill the 77 available slots across the 10 squads. Further, teams can pick up around 30 foreign players.

The Indian Premier League 2024 will begin on March 22 in Chennai. According to SportsTiger’s sources, the opening game would feature IPL 2023 champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.
