MI Emirates has announced its coaching staff for ILT20 2024. Robin Singh will take over as Head Coach, with Ajay Jadeja as Batting Coach and Mitchell McClenaghan as Bowling Coach.
Robin has been with the One Family since 2010, and has played an important role in the Mumbai Indians’ five IPL titles and two Champions League campaigns. In the inaugural season of the ILT20 in 2023, he served as General Manager of MI Emirates.
Former Indian captain Ravindra Jadeja will be the batting coach, bringing his extensive expertise as a player, coach, and mentor.
McClenaghan made his IPL debut in 2015 for the Mumbai Indians, winning four titles with the One Family, and now serves as bowling coach, shifting from player to coach.
Vinay Kumar (Assistant Coach) and James Franklin (Fielding Coach), continue from the previous season.
On the 20th of January, the MI Emirates squad will play an away game in Dubai.
Nicholas Pooran, an aggressive West Indian wicketkeeper-battler, was just named the team’s new captain ahead of the second season. Pooran takes over the team from senior West Indian Kieron Pollard, who led the MI Emirates to third place last year.
MIE had defeated Dubai Capitals by eight wickets in the Eliminator, but were eliminated in Qualifier 2 by the Gulf Giants following a four-wicket defeat.
Pooran previously captained MI New York to the inaugural season of Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States, while Pollard was selected captain of MI Cape Town before of the second season of SA20.
