Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s off-spinner, regained the top spot in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings after taking nine wickets in his 100th Test against England at Dharamsala.
Ashwin took four for 51 and five for 77 in India’s fifth and final Test, which they won by an innings and 64 runs to secure a 4-1 series victory in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC).
Ashwin recovered the top place from compatriot Jasprit Bumrah, beginning his sixth reign at the top of the rankings. He first took the top spot in December 2015.
Kuldeep Yadav, who became the fastest Indian in terms of balls bowled to reach 50 Test wickets, moved up 15 places to a career-high 16th after taking seven wickets in the encounter.
