New Zealand Cricket has announced the team for the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup in June. They welcomed special visitors Matilda and Angus to unveil the players’ names. It was the first time in cricket history that a team was announced in this way.
Meanwhile, Williamson, who plays for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2024, will head the team. This will be Kane’s 6th T20 World Cup appearance, his 4th as captain.
Tim Southee has 7 T20 World Cup appearances, more than Williamson. Trent Boult, who does not have a central contract, has found a place on the 15-member squad.
Matt Henry, a bowler, and Rachin Ravindra, a batting all-rounder, will make their T20 World Cup debuts. Pacer Ben Sears will accompany the team as injury cover.
Adam Milne and Kyle Jamieson were unavailable owing to fitness concerns.
