On Saturday, during India’s fifth Test against England in Dharamsala, James Anderson became only the third bowler to reach 700 wickets in Tests.
Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne are the only other bowlers to have reached the milestone.
James Anderson began the match with 698 wickets and broke the record by dismissing Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav in India’s first innings.
Anderson is already the highest Test wicket-taker among pacers, having surpassed Glenn Mcgrath’s total of 563 during the 2018 Oval Test against India.
