Fans will not have to scramble for match tickets during the Indian women’s cricket team’s upcoming matches against England and Australia at the Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium, as the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) made access free for all of those matches on Tuesday.
The cricket festival here will begin on Wednesday with the India Women’s A team taking on their English counterparts in a three-match T20 series, with all matches taking place at the Wankhede Stadium at 1:30pm on November 29, December 1 and 3.
The India women’s senior team will then face England in a three-match T20I series beginning on December 6, with the second and third matches taking place at the Wankhede Stadium on December 9 and 10, respectively. These games will begin at 7:00 p.m.
“MCA president Amol Kale and the apex council unanimously passed the decision to encourage support for women’s cricket,” stated Ajinkya Naik, the secretary of the association
“Unlocking the gates for free entry not only fills the stadium but also opens the door to a world of empowerment through women’s T20 cricket,” he said.
India and England will thereafter play a one-off Test at the DY Patil Stadium from December 14 to 17. India’s home series against the Australian Women’s team will begin with a one-off Test at the Wankhede Stadium from December 21 to 24, followed by a three-match ODI series.
The first ODI will be played on December 28, the second on December 30, and the third on January 2, 2024, all of which will be held at the Wankhede Stadium and will begin at 1:30pm.
The action will next shift to the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where India and Australia will square off in a three-match T20I series on January 5, 7, and 9.
