ICC Charged Bangladesh Cricketer Towhid Hridoy For Ugly Exchange With Sri Lankan Players

Bangladesh batsman Towhid Hridoy was fined 15% of his match money for violating the ICC Code of Conduct in the third T20 International against Sri Lanka on Saturday.

The incident occurred in the fourth over of Bangladesh’s innings, when after being dismissed, Hridoy turned around on his way back to the pavilion and remonstrated angrily with Sri Lanka players. Later He admitted the offence and accepted the sanction.

On-field umpires Sharfuddoula Saikat and Tanvir Ahmed, third umpire Gazi Sohel, and fourth umpire Masudur Rahman all made the charge.

Level 1 violations result in a minimum punishment of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50% of the player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.
