The IPL 2024 season will get off on March 22 with RCB against CSK in the league’s first match. Ahead of the 2017 season, there were suggestions that the second part of the tournament would be held outside of India due to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The Election Commission of India recently revealed the calendar for the next elections, which will begin on April 19 with counting on June 2. The first phase of the IPL 2024 fixtures is from March 22 to April 7.
Contrary to the reports, IPL chairman Anil Dhumal stated the board are doing their best to not shift the tournament out of India. Speaking with IANS, Dhumal stated, ” We are working closely with the government agencies and as soon as the dates of general elections are announced, we will figure out the further plan… hopefully the second phase of IPL will take place in India only, it’s not going anywhere else: IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal told IANS.
