The Indian team for the forthcoming five-match Twenty20 International series against Australia has been named by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). For the first three games of the series, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the squad, with Ruturaj Gaikwad serving as his deputy.
Sanju Samson has been dropped from the squad, and Shreyas Iyer will replace him for the remaining T20Is. He will also replace Ruturaj Gaikwad as vice-captain for the final two games. The team’s two openers are Ishan Kishan, who also serves as a wicketkeeper, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh will bat in the middle order alongside Jitesh Sharma, the team’s second keeper. Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube have been named all-rounders by the BCCI. Axar will make his team debut after missing out on the World Cup squad due to injury.
Ravi Bishnoi has been selected as the leg-spinner, while Yuzvendra Chahal has been dropped from the Indian side for the ICC World Cup 2023. Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, and Mukesh Kumar will lead India’s pacer department.

The series between India and Australia will kick start on 23rd November at Visakhapatnam. The second game will be played on 26th November in Thiruvananthapuram. The focus will then shift to the third game that will be played on 28th November in the 3rd T20I. The last two games of the series will be played on December 1st and December 3rd in Raipur and Bengaluru respectively.
