Sikandar Raza replaces Craig Ervine as Zimbabwe’s new T20I skipper

In a major development, Zimbabwe Cricket has named Sikandar Raza as the new captain of the side in the shortest version of the game. The Zimbabwe international cricketer of Pakistani origin takes over for Craig Ervine, who guided the team to the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022.

On Saturday, November 4, the Zimbabwe cricket board met in Victoria Falls, and one of the choices made was Raza taking up the T20I captaincy. Zimbabwe Cricket took to X to announce this decision, writing, “All-rounder Sikandar Raza has been named as Captain of Zimbabwe’s T20 international team in one of the changes announced by the Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) Board after its meeting held in Victoria Falls on Saturday.”
