Ambati Rayudu, a former Indian cricketer and IPL-winning player for CSK and Mumbai, recently spoke about his career and the Indian Team’s success in the ODI World Cup 2023, as well as a lot about his personal and professional life, in a recent interview.
When asked about his career, he voiced dissatisfaction with how it ended and how team management treated him. Rayudu stated that the team management assumed he lacked confidence because of his calm and quiet attitude, which he referred to as dumb logic. He also voiced dissatisfaction with his dismissal from the team after a single poor performance and maintained that he never solicited anyone for favours.
“Everyone’s story will be different, but I’m happy that I never asked anybody for a favour,” Rayudu stated on The Ranveer Show in a YouTube podcast when questioned if team management should have given him more chances at the international level.
When asked which World Cup loss to Australia would hurt India more, 2003 or 2023, he answered both would hurt for a long time, but this time in 2023, India had a much stronger side than in 2003.
“I think Australia was much stronger than us, but this time, definitely, we were a stronger side,” he said.
2011 was a better Indian side in general because of the skill factor: Rayudu
When asked if he has seen a better Indian squad in general than this one, Rayudu stated that the 2011 World Cup-winning team lead by MS Dhoni was a better Indian team in general due to the skill aspect, experience, and everything. Nonetheless, this 2023 team was the best he had seen in any World Cup.
“I believe this is the best Indian team I’ve seen in a World Cup.” “I think this side played the best in all the World Cups that I have seen,” Rayudu added. “2011 was a better Indian side in general because of the skill factor and the experience and everything, but this side, I think, played the best in all the World Cups that I have seen.”
