Devon Conway ruled out of IPL 2024, CSK named Richard Gleeson as replacement

Devon Conway, a Chennai Super Kings hitter, has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to injury.

The New Zealand batsman, who played 23 matches for CSK over the last two IPL seasons, scored 924 runs, including nine half-centuries and a top score of 92*.

CSK has added English pacer Richard Gleeson to the squad for the remainder of the IPL 2024.

The right-arm bowler has played six T20 Internationals for England and taken nine wickets. In addition, Gleeson has played 90 T20s and taken 101 wickets. He will join CSK for a reserve fee of INR 50 lac.

Richard Gleeson, a latecomer to the professional arena, surpassed expectations with an impressive start. On July 9, 2022, at the age of 34, he made his international debut in a T20I against India.

He destroyed the formidable combination of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant in his first eight deliveries. This rounded off a spectacular comeback from a near-retirement due to injury the previous winter.
